I am putting on weight, but I am only eating when I feel sort of empty/hungry. I've looked around and I can't see any mention of this, but I am sure it is a menopause thing.

Any tips on what I can do to stop this uncomfortable empty feeling?

I am also putting on weight but know that it is because I eat too much as well as being a symptom of menopause.

When I feel hungry, and if I remember, I try to drink a glass of water which often does the trick in terms of postponing the need to eat. We always assume that what our body wants is food when often it is only some liquid that it is crying out for!

I also notice that if I keep up the gym exercise, it does keep the weight at bay. It's tough to do but better if you go with friends.

After going on a low GI low carb diet I have lost 1/2 stone and am thrilled as I exercise at the gym most days including running on the treadmill and have never lost any of the weight I have put on during menopause.

I just think back to my 40s and remember how I thought it was difficult to keep weight off then. Well that was nothing compared with now. My regime: (try to) stay off chocolate (I definitely think the craving for chocolate has INCREASED), keep up eating more fruit and veg than I would normally (it stops me getting constipated) and try to be moderate. I figure this is for the rest of my life, so a "diet" won't do.

I go to the gym and do CV work. I know I need to put on more muscle because it burns up more calories, but I hate weights and resistance work.

Any hints?
